About "COLOURS OF AUSTRALIA"
Captured while returning home from a weekend road west and inland from Brisbane. The sun was getting low on the horizon as I began looking for suitable locations. Chasing the afternoon light is hard enough when you know the area, however on this particular day we were 100s of KM's from home and running low on petrol! After scouting numerous side roads we finally came across some interesting trees. The sky was looking nicely saturated and the golden afternoon light was casting long shadows across this beautiful open valley.
The rich colours captured in this image are only achievable during the early autumn months. The New England region starts at Newcastle NSW and follows the Great Dividing Range up to the Queensland border. The landscape is very impressive and you get to see a bit of the 'real Australia' and travel through the small country towns. Sunburnt Land, the real colour of Australia.
